墨西哥亿万富翁里卡多·萨利纳斯·普列戈 (Ricardo Salinas Pliego) 是墨西哥最富有的人之一，他宣布已将大约 70% 的投资组合配置到比特币 (BTC) 上。

墨西哥第七大富豪萨利纳斯认为，法定货币的购买力注定会随着时间的推移而下降，同时他表示，比特币是长期来看最强大的投资工具之一。

萨利纳斯将比特币的长期表现与房地产进行比较，以此佐证他的观点。他回顾道，2016年1月，比特币的价格约为400美元，当时伦敦市中心一套平均售价为160万美元的房产，相当于大约4000个比特币。他表示，近十年来，房价基本保持不变，但如今同样的房子只需不到30个比特币就能买到。

萨利纳斯表示，这种比较表明，从长远来看，比特币的表现可以优于房地产等传统价值储存资产。

然而，萨利纳斯对法定货币的批评远早于比特币。这位亿万富翁商人表示，美国前总统理查德·尼克松在1971年决定终止美元与黄金的兑换，废除金本位制，这曾是他家经常讨论的话题。
